Duration: 3 months Contract
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for planning, coordinating and administering matters related to
PostgreSQL/MySQL database(s), including performance benchmarking,
documentation, upgrades, operational guidelines, security and account
maintenance.
Must have experience on MySQL/PostgreSQL clustering, InnoDB ISAM Database
engines,
An expert in clustering and configuring MySQL/PostgreSQL for replication,
RAID, FailOver, Performance tuning, SlowQuery tuning, System Health
Maintainance, TCP tunneling/sockets, MySQL Security.
Individual should be able to set up the environments by himself, configure,
deploy, maintain a Clustered MySQL/PostgreSQL server farm on the Amazon
cloud.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Establish standard operating procedures for administering PostgreSQL/MySQL
databases.
-Implement industry standards & best-practices.
-Performance Tune and Benchmark PostgreSQL/MySQL databases.
-Backup & Recover PostgreSQL/MySQL databases.
-Provide on-call 24x7 support for production PostgreSQL databases.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
-Undergraduate degree, 8 yrs. relevant work experience or equivalent
combination education and relevant work experience.
-5 yrs. DBA experience - working knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL,
EnterpriseDB.
-In-depth database development skills.
-Exceptional ability to identify and resolve database related issues.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Strong written and oral communication skills.
-Demonstrated professional demeanor and customer-focused orientation.
