I figured it out. It was caused by a corrupt tkkit.dll file. (which I
believe was corrupted during an unsuccessful attempt at extending the
tkkit.dll)

I'm using perl 5.10, and when I launch ppm from the command line, I get this
error:
ppm gui failed: can't find package img::png
Why is it looking for this package?
Any help is appreciated.
Mike
