Testing two alternate (host) server speeds

I am trying to choose between two hosts and have uploaded my FP site on to
both their servers. Is there any program which will help me to OBJECTIVELY
assess which server dishes out the site faster?

Re: Testing two alternate (host) server speeds

Upload a large file to both. Time the download time from each server.
You should try several times at different times to get an average.
Remember to remove the file when you are done testing.

RE: Testing two alternate (host) server speeds

http://www.netmechanic.com/ as well. I would do a few tests to see how it
does. And at different times since some websites might be hit at certain
times of the day for some people (i.e. lunch, after work, before work, etc).
