configure - holy COW
I just now took a look through the entire "configure" script that
comes with the source distro (5.2.5). That is without a doubt the most
humongous, gigantic, gargantuan cascading Niagara Falls of a configure
file I have ever seen. Exactly how many series of fallen empires did
it take the combined effort of in order to compose this thing?

It's one of those pieces of software that, even if you wrote it
yourself, you're still impressed that it works at all.
