I created my rss feed (hoagies.rss) in FP, saved it as hoagies.rss, and
published it - it works great. But after I closed FP and re-opened it, I
cannot open my hoagies.rss page in FP! I get an error that says it couldn't
run shell32.dll.

Why is it trying to run shell32.dll just to open a text file for editing??

Did you set FP to open the rss file (w/ FP as Text or Notepad) in Tools Configure editors
