Would Like to Completely Uninstall .NET

The Add or Remove Programs screen does not show that .NET is installed,
yet Windows Update wants to install some patches/upgrades for .NET 1.1
and 2.0.

I have tried my best to clean up things using Microsoft's KB824643 but
Windows Update persists...

I know that I can tell Windows Update to ignore such patches/upgrades,
but I would like to completely get rid of .NET. It has been a pain
since day one for me...

Any suggestions?

Look in the \Windows\Microsoft.net\ folder and sub-folders and
delete/remove/uninstall as you see fit or can find an uninstaller.

RE: Would Like to Completely Uninstall .NET

If the other suggestions don't work, try the Uninstall Cleanup utility at
this link. It may show .Net 1.1 where the regular control panel does not.

Hi.
I use Windows XP SP2.
There must be a remaining trace of .NET somewhere on my PC...
Thanks.

Thanks, Mike.
The utility does not show that .NET is installed.

Did you even try to do what I suggested?

Yes, I downloaded the utility, installed it, and ran it. It shows all
kind of programs installed but .NET is not one of them. So I did not do
anything else with the utility. Am I missing something?
