Losing info jpg and gifs on publish

Hello, i have a real problem with my site www.racingengines.com i had a guy
build the site by hand no frontpage and i've been pulling my hair out, i
purchased Fp 98 some years back to maintain and make changes as needed myself
didn't work and too busy to learn web design as a new trade so site stagnet ,
i've purchased FP2003 2 or so years ago and same problem and here it comes,,
using both programs i can upload the entire site to my server using either
program and on a full upload the site works fine, links work, all gifs and
pictures are there, i can open my local copy or open a page directly from my
site in FP, everything looks good on my PC everthings there, problem is i
can't even republish with no changes let alone change a letter or number on
the page and on republish the background, jpg pictures, inline gif line
seperaters, links around the site have dissappeared. I've read 3 different FP
books on using the program and my college graduated daughter has also read
the same books about FP but what we get is not what we see. Maybe a bug in
program don't know just know were very frustrated. Host is hosting.com and
the FP extensions are installed.. HELP Thanks Rick

Re: Losing info jpg and gifs on publish

Before you added images to your pages, did you have a web / site open in FP, and then imported
(drag-n-drop) the images into your current open web / site prior to inserting them on to your pages?

Re: Losing info jpg and gifs on publish

Hello, this site was created (1998) without front page , i purchased FP 98 in
late 1999-2000 to maintain myself and have had the problems, the webmaster
built it with coffee cup, there is obsulete pricing dated 1998 because of the
issue of scewed information upon making any changes and losing the banners,
inline gifs, jpg pictures. This is a working site after a full wipe from
server and new upload but it's a 2001 backup copy of the site that works for
all to see until i try to update any piece of info and that page that i try
to update loses the info.. (i can upload the entire site to my server using
either

Re: Losing info jpg and gifs on publish

Hello, again, this is a full publish from a 2001 backup copy that i did 4
days ago so i at least have a presence even if it's 7 years old, trying to
fix so i can make it a 2008 version.. Thanks

Tom,, that link you showed is a jpg of a car that should hyperlink from a
graphics list of pictures and doesn't have anything to do with WP world
Products info page, i don't know why it links to that pic/folder but i can't
fix it because of the common gif, jpg that are on all my pages dissappear on
the page i work on :-(( Thanks

Re: Losing info jpg and gifs on publish

Hello again, i publish from FP to http://www.racingengines.com and i can view
the site through my browser, some things missing, i check in Cpanel that
hosting.com offers and file manager shows the site as /home/racingen, i
expand on this folder and it appears there's the outline of the folders
within my site but no content such as the public_html shows in FP, when in
front page it shows 8144kb and only 4kb for that same folder in the file
manager, i'm confused could i be publishing to somewere on the host server
and viewable but not to the folder in the file manager?

SO to recap the file manager lists the main domain as racingengines.com and
the home page listed as /home/racingen
