FP2003 - Convert Folder To Website

Sir or Ma'am:

I have a perfectly working website and would like to add another separate
website for my second business. When I tried this - "poof"! Materials
crossed over from one to the other - lines, background, etc. Reading here, I
realized that my present "folder" is NOT a "web folder" with the globe in it.
In FP2003 I can not go up one level to get the the folder containing the
website to "Convert to Web". I can get to the subfolders, but not THE main
folder which is one level up. I'm stuck - and sure it's something very dumb
I need to do. Help?!?

Additionally, to start a new "Web" I was just going to click "Create a new
page or site" under "getting Started". Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Re: FP2003 - Convert Folder To Website

I am not sure that I understand your problem.

Let's assume that your present site is called mysite.com. If you make a new
folder in that site and you call it newsite you can convert that folder into
a web which your customers would reach by the url http://mysite.com/newsite/

If, however you want the new site to be reached by http://newsite.com you
will have to start a completely new site and, depending on your host, you
may have to have a new site complete with new IP address.

There are other ways to handle this using aliases etc. but you had best
discuss this with your host company.
