Latency of 6 seconds in HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.Execute()

Hello People,

We are facing an issue while executing request on our Sharepoint
application.

Method:
Void System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.Execute( )
(from System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep)

takes more than 6 seconds to complete execution.

Do we need to configure IIS in a way so that we can reduce the
performance hit in the above method?

If any configuration changes required, can you please let me know.
