sendmail in Solaris 10

Hi,

I have installed sendmail 8.14.1 into Solaris 10 but encountered the
following problem : -
1) No maillog activities. I have restart syslog and include mail.info into
/etc/syslog.conf
mail.info /var/log/maillog
2) I don't want to start the SMTP daemon. How to send email locally? I have
tried to use MSA and include daemonportoptions with port 587 like
DaemonPortOptions=Name=MSA, Port=587, M=E in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf.
What have I missed?

Thanks!

Did you look at /var/log/syslog?

Yes.
Nothing output to /var/log/syslog

Please do not top-post.

It should at least have shown sendmail starting:

Sep 8 22:55:35 tarfu sendmail[15856]: [ID 702911 mail.info] starting
daemon (8.13.7+Sun): SMTP+queueing [at] 00:30:00
Sep 8 22:55:35 tarfu sendmail[15857]: [ID 702911 mail.info] starting
daemon (8.13.7+Sun): queueing [at] 00:30:00

Are you sure that sendmail is even running?

$ svcs | grep smtp
online Sep_08 svc:/network/smtp:sendmail
