development of file which log all the debug script

greeting all........

i m a new professional workin on the development of file which log all the
debug script.Actually as per my requirement, I need to log all the debug
script (data) in a log file on the run of every script (whenever someone is
running a script) and the data should be logged in the file in following
format:
This log file will be automatically created whenever someone is running a
script and no matter that script fails or succeeded it will save the debug
output text in a file in the following format.

Account name

File Name

Layout Name

Table Occurrence Name (The table the layout is associated with) Base Table
Name (The base table the layout is associated with) Object Type (Button,
Merge Field, Field, Portal, Etc...) Object Location (Left, Top, Right, Bottom)
Current Record Number Current Number of Records in the found set Duration it
took to render - in microseconds

Hope it is clear.

I will try to send some more details on this.

Please let me know is it achievable or not?

I will be extremely obliged if u can help me to achieve any part of the
requirement.

Regards

Achievable yes, practicle no. And not all the things you want exist.
Filemaker keeps track of the time by using whole seconds only. Parts of this
can not be registered.

As for the other things, you could set up a LOG script that uses several
script parameters. (Like button, where and when). Then start every script
with a reference to this sub-script. You have to create very extensive parse
solutions to accomplish this. but it can be done.
And put all this info in a log table. But this would require very thorough
and extensive set up. Although with a lot of patience i'm sure it can be
done. Leaves the question why you want this detailed information. It seems a
bit superfluous.

Plain and simple: no i can't. If you need my work you can hire me. We are
all here to help each other, to answer questions. But a plain and simple:
'can you send me' is not the way to go here (imho). If you have specific
questions on how to build this solution, I sure am willing to answer you
question. State what you have done so far. What you expected it would do and
what is doesn't do. If you ask these kind of questions i'm sure the group
(me including) is more then willing to help you.

As for sending a SDK, I have never heard of such a thing. But that may be my
ignorance. If a SDK is commercial software this group is not the place to
ask. If it is not commercial you will be able to find it by searching the
internet.

hi ursus

with refrence to ur last mail i have discussed ur issue to our technical team
nad came to a decision to hire u but i want some sort of information from u
based on them we will continue our work these are

> the amount u r going to charge
> the wayin which we r goin to communicate ie by chatting or desktop sharing
one thing i also want to say that we have just started our project so we
have to start from the initial stage. i will be thankful to u if u give me ur
mail id to minimize the communication gap.and i m sending u the definition of
SDK and API for ur convineance hope it will help u.......

API

An API, or Application Programming Interface, is a set of standards that your
application must adhere to in order for it to be usable with the host program
or standard. Some APIs are header and source code documents that you are
required to use when compiling your code, while other APIs are just header
files that allow you to link to a provided library. There are no extra
libraries needed to create a FileMaker Pro plug-in other than the ones you
would normally need to create a code resource or shared library.
SDK
An SDK, or Software Development Kit, is often used interchangeably with API.

keep well

Danish,

Although I will be able to do some work for you there are some reasons this
might not work out as you want. Better you find a Filemaker Developer in
your area. (try google) The way I normally work is this; I go to the firm
that needs my skills. I talk to them, I talk to everyone that will work with
my solution. I discuss the contract. Generally the solution I have built is
mine. It is not owned by the third party, they just use it. They don't have
access to the developing parts. Any change or maintanance goes through me.
In rare cases I sign over responsibility, but this comes with a price and
does mean I will not do any developing afterwards. And because of the
distance (I live in the Netherlands) we would be confined to e-mail, which
is never any good when discussing detailed wishes for software. Once again I
would be able to do the job, but my advice to you is find someone who speaks
your language and possibly is able to come to you office.

As for an API

Filemaker just needs filemaker. Once installed you can create and use your
own solutions. You would need a specific Filemaker for specific needs.
Filemaker for normal use and with a very small network. Filemaker Advanced
for specialist development and creating stand-alone versions (you don't need
the main program any more), Filemaker Server for needs when you have a large
network. You need as many licenses as you have computers that need a full
Filemaker installation. This amount might depend on your needs. With DWP
(Direct Web Publishing) and just a few users and a good server you might
want less licenses then when you need more users with full developing
access.

The on top of that you might want php and xml support.

If you have any specific questions or needs mail me: Replace DOT with . and
AT with [at]
ursus_DOTkirkAThotmailDOTnl

Finally: this group is here to help. If you start learning Filemaker and
have some questions please do return here.

Keep well, Ursus
