How to sift through spam on FMPro Gruop
I come here for help, and am not on it frequently enough... when did
all this garbage about MI5 or whatever start appearing, and is there a
way to sift through it other than doing a search for the word
Filemaker?

The silly MI5 garbage has only really appeared en masse today. Just
ignore it and hopefully it will go away again. At least they all start
with "MI5" so can easily be skipped over.
You appear ot be using Google Groups which means it's probably
impossible to filter out any messages. You would need proper newsreader
software and a newsgroup server.

MI5 floods some Usenet groups every few months. It's not just cdf
this week, but at least three other newsgroups I know of. It'll stop
in a couple days.

Thanks Harry, and Thanks Grip...
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the job, I cannot get a newsreader
on my system at work and have to go through Google. I do appreciate
you all letting me know what was going on though and that this spam
storm will pass.

Interesting -- I have no idea what you're all referring to. I don't
have any filters set up in my news client, so it must be my ISP/news
service provider who is doing the filtering.

I don't see any MI5 posts on cdf (could be filtered by my server), but
they do turn up on a couple of other groups I hang out on. He's just
some loony, he doesn't even rate being called a troll. He crossposts
mercilessly, though, which means there might be a few MI5 replies
coming through too. Many users don't realize that by replying to a
crosspost, unless they edit the header, they are crossposting the
reply too. That's why crossposting is not the done thing.
Actually some of MI5's crap is hilarious, if one has a good buzz on.
