Authentication

My sendmail appears to authenticate from external networks ok when I do it
manually via telnet, but seems to fail when using outlook.

How can this be!?

Perhaps Microsoft saw no need to include support for products they don't
make.

The only common authentication method, from memory, is LOGIN, which SASL
doesn't support by default.

When you connect via telnet, what is displayed in the 250-AUTH line
after you EHLO?
