automatic enter/carriage return after barcode gun entry
Hi,
Did anyone come across this issue before?
I need an automatic enter/carriage return (rather than having to hit
ENTER) once the item is scanned in with a barcode gun. Something that
takes the user to the next record (rather than the next field to the
right).
I guess the "leavefield" feature would have been handy, maybe next
year. I guess the only way to do this would be using a plug-in.
Please post any hints that you might have.
Thanks, Tom

Most barcode scanners let you change the character sent at the end of
the barcode - a Tab, Enter, etc. This usually involves scanning a
setting barcode from the manual, but could also be somewhere in the
software settings.
All you do is set the barcode gun to send the code followed by an Enter
character ... assuming you're using a script with a Pause command in it
that actually resumes and creates the new record before pausing again.
