FM9 fubar
FM9 Eval WinXP
I cannot find an "OK" or "Cancel" button on the script editor. Must use the
goaway button then respond to Save.

While in a script window, you'll see the commands you're looking for on
the Scripts menu. or CTRL-S / CMD-S to save

As long as you are editing the script a tiny star in the headline of the window
indicates the edit status. Ctrl-s saves and makes the star disappear.

WOW that is really intuitive and easy for any user to get. What happened to
OK and Cancel anyway. I guessa button costs extra.

Does it lack more or less intuitiveness than top posting?
The Script Editor in FM 9 is very intuitive to users who have never
used the Script Editor before. After all, it follows the conventions
used by almost all document editing software (like Word, Excel, etc).

Every dialog box/window in FM9 has an OK button... field definitions,
tables, relationships, value lists, export-import, value lists, files, open,
etc. ad ainfinitum, ad naseum... but not scripts??? and only scripts uses
small icons at the bottom for actions like new, inport, print. There is a
Cancel and a Duplicate button. Even Word-Excel have OK buttons on the save
dialog. The 4 smaller buttons are not even labeled, where's the consistency
required by good UI. It seems the script module was written by someone that
didn't talk to the other module developers.
If script was a an editor, then why cani't I also cut and paste from
external sources (like notepad).
P.S. Please forgive my not posting at bottom last time... I bad.

I'm not sure you have noticed, but you can open and work on multiple
scripts as well as bounce back to the other database functions without
backing out of the script maker. Very good stuff. I suspect this may be
one of the reasons for the disappearance of the "okay" and "cancel" buttons.

That is great! You should add the reply marks for that extra special
realism...

Interestingly the "cancel" and "okay" buttons are missing in the Mac
and Win versions of Pro and Advance. There may be something to your
theory. However, for me, the ability to keep Scriptmaker open is a
feature, the missing buttons are a BUG. Also, I'm not seeing any tiny
star in the Mac version of Advance.
It all just looks and feels incomplete.

A bug? How does the lack of those button produce incorrect results?
Just because you don't like the design does not make it a bug. If
you'd never used Scriptmaker before you wouldn't know the difference.
