Hello,

I've downloaded the "try-it"-version of Filemaker 9. I could not believe
that they still didn't include a way to perform a Filemaker script when
exiting a field (with the TAB, RETURN or ENTER - key) alltough there were
some rumors that it would be included (that's why they call them rumors!!!.
Does anyone has a solution for this. I looked at the plugin "Event-script",
and it works, but I don't find it very flexible If you want to perform
different scripts when exiting different fields.
Does anyone know a good alternatif?

I've no complaints with EventScript but I think zippScript is great.
It's got a more professional feel. Either one allows you to perform a
script when entering or exiting a field.

Perhaps you could explain what you're expecting for flexibility?

If each of five buttons is supposed to do something when clicked, each
has to be individually defined, specifying which script is executed
when that button is clicked.

Same with EventScript (or any of the other triggering plugins). If
each of five fields is supposed to trigger a script, then each field
has to be individually defined. In the field definition, you configure
the plugin to execute a specific script upon change to that field. How
much more flexible can it be? Granted, a little more effort is
required to define a plugin function versus a button, but that's the
nature of the beast. All plugs work that way.

I have been using zippScript exclusively recently. It does everything
EventScript does, with the added capacity to schedule a script for a
specific time in the future or after a specific duration. Gaston
(EventScript developer) has told me he does not intend to add that.
