Before I Ask FM

Hi

Soon (when my solution will finally be transfert from 6 to 8.5) I may think
to switch to 9 instead of 8.5, I've been waiting since 4.1 to have a SQL
fully integrated FM...

Now I have SQL 7.0 will it work ? FM list only SQL 2000 and Up.

I ask my consultant to replace my server NT4 with a new version of Window
Server 2003.... imagine, new PC Server
new Microsoft Server licenses,
New SQLversion because Server 2003 is not compatible with SQL 7, new
license, more $$
New filemaker licence more $$ (but thas's OK it's what I want)
New Filemaker Server + $$$
My Fax server won't work with Server 2003, need a new fax server software,
more $$$ and the new version will not be compatible with acounting software
embedded command, more $$ and more problems....

What Happen to the old licence that I have, they don't worth nothing anymore
?!? So using the same logic, as a new release software is on the market,
since the old licence are worthless, that mean we can copy then and share
them as we like ?!?! it's worth nothing !!

The only time you can upgrade licence at a lower fee it's within the first
3-6 months and from the previous version only
At the End, My business won't be faster
it won't be more productive
I won't sale more
I won't go to the moon with that and it will probably cause more bug then I
have right now !!

Just because I wan to use the new feature of FM, I will have to spend more
then 25.000$ SO PLEASE Be FM9 work with SQL 7 !! :O)
Can some one explain me why, and give me good raison, why do we have to pay
all the time FULL price for licences ?
