portal format

greetings,

i have a portal on a layout that uses alternating colors for displaying
data. this is fine for as long as the user has not clicked inside the
portal. once the user clicks inside the portal all the colors go away
and the rows look mingled. fields appear with little dotted borders
around them. this happens when they click on the vertical scroll bar as
well.

is there any way to make the portal look uniform all the time regardless
if it has focus or not?

thanks
lark

In Layout Mode, Layouts / Layout Setup:

UNCHECK "Show field frames when record is active"
