Firewall activity display program

Hi all,

With my browser and email program turned off and the cable modem on
standby there is something still trying to access the Internet.
Unfortunately Zone Alarm does not have a display that would tell one
what program it is.

Question - Is there a stand alone program that monitors activity such as
that and provides a display so that one can know "who's calling home"?

Thanks much,

Perk (:>)

Active Ports, CurrPort, Process Explorer, and TCPview are just a few.

All but one of the tools are being explained in the link on how to use them.

I like to use WireShark (formally Ethereal), myself.
