I am looking to create a simple Gantt chart to capture various begin
and end dates in each record using FileMaker Pro 8 Advanced.

Has anyone had success creating such a chart with any particular
charting software?

There are a number of solutions out there that do gantt charting in
filemaker, ranging from free simple demo's of the techniques to full
on purchasable solutions.

Try http://www.databasepros.com/resources.html and search for gantt. It
is a fairly simple (as far as gantt is concerned) file to get you started.
