Just wanted to know if Oracle 10G and perl v5.8.0 are compatible or an
upgrade to perl 6 would be required.

They're compatible. I'd recommend using the latest stable version of
Perl, though -- 5.8.8.

(Perl 6 is not released yet...)

Perl 6 has not been released yet ;-)

FWIW, I'm using 10G with 5.8.8 and everything plays nicely together.

But, what do you mean by "compatible"?

AFAIK, Perl 6 is not even close to being out yet. If it is, then you
would need to use the DBI and DBD::Oracle for Perol 6 (I am very sure
they will be different).

I use Perl 5.8.* and Oracle 8.1, 9.2, 10.1, and 10.2 w/o issue.
