So I've got the "save" button for the sprite generator pretty much
finished:

....but uh...a strange thing happens when it creates the image. It
shows the image on the screen, but when you go to save it...nada as
far as any of the imagesetpixel st00f from the imported color codes
from Flash (transferred in via post variables). If I do any
imagesetpixel st00f OUTSIDE of the imported variables then they show
up.

At first I thought it was a speed/rendering issue, so I modified the
script to wait until after it had done all the calculation and pixel
color setting before it set the file header and such...but it didn't
work.

So I'm wondering if maybe it's just a bug in PHP regarding the use of
post variables or if there's something else I'm missing...I would use
get variables, but there's too much data and it crashes and says the
URI is too long.

It should also be noted that I originally tried to have it post the
variables to the same page itself rather than an external page,
however the problem with that is that the file header was already set
so if you tried to save the image it would have the all the original
HTML crap in it and wouldn't work...BUT...the saved images were WELL
over 500 bytes and seemed reflective of the actual nature of the image
data, so I think in that case it DID work, it's just the file header
was fubar and I don't know if there's anyway to rewrite it when there
are post variables involved.

I suppose one method I could try is using post variables to the same
page, but then rather than display the image in itself at that point,
I could have it launch another PHP file when it's done and send the
final image to that PHP file/script using get variables...not sure as
to the nature of the process though...presumably though the amount of
data for the completed PHP encoded image would be smaller than the raw
pixel RGB values.

Any thoughts on this? Or am I asking questions that are out of
everyone's league again (at least in A26...I dunno about the regs of
alt.php or alt.macromedia.flash)?

PS - To the fuckwits like Stevie, I have SPECIFIC reasons for xposting
to froups like ADG, mostly because there are SPECIFIC regs like Spacey
(Space Girl) who are like me in that they have a WIDE range of
expertise that spans into ALL web technologies...and coincidentally
the peeps like that are usually the ones with the knowledge and
understanding to answer my questions.
