No longer can edit changes to my web server using FrontPage 2003

I can no longer edit my web pages by opening my website in a browser on my
laptop or any remote computer, logging on to my web server (2003 Standard
OS) and edit using FrontPage.

By opening FrontPage, I would be asked for my server's username and
password. I can still edit my webpage, but I am unable to log on to my
server in order to save the changes directly to the webserver. About a month
ago, had to reinstall my OS (2003 standard) and since then, I can not edit
like before. I am assuming it is a permissions issue but nothing I try helps.

What did you do to configure editing permissions on the server?

Cheers

Re: No longer can edit changes to my web server using FrontPage 20

Right click on my computer, select manage, go into groups and placed myself
in the administrators group. My server is a member in a domain.

Re: No longer can edit changes to my web server using FrontPage 20

That may not be sufficient.

First of all you need to install the Frontpage Server Extensions (FPSE).
Then go into the Sharepoint Admin site and choose to Extend the site you
want to edit.

Lastly, by default, Windows Admins would also have permissions to edit sites
via FPSE, but you would need to confirm those permissions inside the
Sharepoint admin site.

Cheers
Ken
