client authentication failed in IE browser(only in Win98) for self signed certificate

Hi,

While i am using the self signed certificate for client
authentication in IE6.0 (Windows98 machine),the identification of
certificate was getting failed in server side due to the size of
certificate packet is too large(nearly10MB).

I tried in my application as well as in OpenSSL. But both are returning

the same. but in netscape it works properly.
