spam

I have received spam e-mails purporting to come from Filemaker.
Should I inform filemaker and, if so, how?

Regards

Re: spam

No, it's not worth notifying FileMaker unless the spammer set up a phishing
site. (In which case you would email abuse [at] filemaker.com)

Spammers continually use "spoofed" email addresses to bypass filters. Given
the current architecture of the Internet, there is nothing that can be done
about it.

Anyone can put webmaster [at] filemaker.com in as their "from:" address. I get
dozens of "Undeliverable Mail" messages from mail systems that are
responding to messages apparently sent from shfdsjsf [at] wjm.org or other random
addresses using my domain. Of course I did not send them, nor did my mail
server. I am sure FileMaker is in a situation 100x worse.

I think there may be a second moron posing as the "MI5" idiot. :-(
Thank goodness schools go back soon (in the northern hemisphere anyway)!
