Connecting MySQL 5 via ODBC to ArcGIS

The folks in my office prefer to use ESRI's ArcMap and ArcCatalog to do
their SQL Lookups. I recently installed MySQL on a new Linux Server and have
had trouble connecting. They are using ArcGIS 9 on Windows XP machines. The
data is on a SuSE SLES 9 server.

Has anyone any wisdom to share? Driver settings, etc.

Thanks,
