Install Postgre on Linux Suse 10

Hi everyone,

I am trying to install postgre on suse 10, however i really dont know how to
install it.

can anyone help me???

I downloaded the file:

postgresql-8.0.4.tar.bz2

from http://www.postgresql.org/

is this the file i should use??? how can i install postgres on my machine?

doesn't suse have a package manager named yast? i
would try to go the package manager route, unless you
have a specific reason not to.

if you want to install from source...

Hi juan,

Did you read the manual and the README file that camewith your download?
I think you shout take some time to do so, it will help. If you still
have more questions about your installation ask the correct list:
pgsql-general [at] postgresql.org As this list is about the combination
php-postgres, so after your installation is working.
