IIS 6.0 w/IIS 5.0 Isolation Mode issue

IIS 6.0 w/IIS 5.0 Isolation Mode issue

am 29.07.2005 23:55:42 von mike g

I am trying to run an application, that worked fine on W2000 /IIS 5.0, on
Windows 2003/ IIS 6.0. I am trying to use IIS compatibility mode. When I
set the application to High Protection, I get the following error:

"COM+ was unable to talk to the Microsoft Distributed Transaction
Coordinator"

Also, in the Application Log (not neccesarily when the above error happens)
I see:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSDTC
Event Category: SVC
Event ID: 4437
Date: 7/29/2005
Time: 8:29:38 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ABC110
Description:
The account that the MS DTC service is running under is invalid. This can
happen if the service account information has been changed using the
Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC). MS DTC service will
continue to start. Please make sure that the MS DTC service account
information is updated using the Component Services Explorer.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I also see this message:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSDTC
Event Category: TM
Event ID: 4097
Date: 7/29/2005
Time: 8:29:38 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ABC110
Description:
MS DTC started with the following settings:

Security Configuration (OFF = 0 and ON = 1):
Network Administration of Transactions = 0,
Network Clients = 0,
Distributed Transactions using Native MSDTC Protocol = 0,
Transaction Internet Protocol (TIP) = 0,
XA Transactions = 1

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any idea on what I can do on Windows 2003/IIS6.0 to remedy this?

Thanks!

Mike

In the Services Administrative tool, what account is the Distributed
Transaction Co-ordinator service configured to run under?

Cheers
Ken

Ken -

Distributed Transaction Coordinator is configured to Log on as "Local System
account". This is the same as it is on my Windows 2000 systems.

Regards,

Mike
