Organizing Addresses, Mailing Lists and PIM is Frustrating

I can't believe how there aren't any decent solutions to help organize
addresses and contact information. There should be an easier way to
enter (automatic recognition), organize (tags) and retrieve
information.

There are a few services that offer solutions but either inadequate or
only provide partial solutions:
http://www.plaxo.com, https://www.airset.com, http://www.grandcentral.com,
http://www.zyb.com, ....

I'm curious if other people feel the same way and if there is any
potential to do something about it.

There are lots of contact management systems out there. Just most are
not web based. But that's not what these sites are all about. These
are community portals, which is something entirely different.

Hi Jerry,

exactly. funny that all of them are community and sharing related.
what about organizing and keeping information private? dont you think
that thats an opportunity? that something like that might be in demand?

Sure, that's why the contact management packages ACT, Gold Mine and the
rest are so popular with businesses.
