RBLDNSD Logging question

Anyone know the proper way to use the -l logging function for rbldnsd?
Doesn't seem to matter where I point it or what permissions the file
has, rbldnsd keeps complaining:

Jan 30 20:38:48 email rbldnsd[506]: error (re)opening logfile
`/var/log/rbldnsd.log': No such file or directory

Yes, the file is there. Yes, the rbldnsd user owns the file. Yes, I
have even attempted to chmod it to 777 to get it to read/write.

This is installed via ports on FreeBSD 5.4.
