server2003 and default website

I can not start it, all I get is:
the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process.
I don't see what is the problem in the event viewer either.

Re: server2003 and default website

Try this.
You receive a "The process cannot access the file because it is being used
by another process" error message when you try to start a Web site in the
Internet Information Services 6.0 MMC snap-in

Re: server2003 and default website

Wrong error.
"The default web site used by internet information services (IIS) is disabled.
Can not start it.

Re: server2003 and default website

article nor did I see it anywhere in the registry. The problem still exist.
Please help.

Re: server2003 and default website

You have to add it.
Or remove whatever is using port 80.

Re: server2003 and default website

I need to add the ListenOnlyList subkey in the registry?

This is what I have when I did the netstat -ano command:
Using the netstat -ano command:
Proto Local Address Foreign Address State PID
TCP 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1816

There were others, but no entry for port 443.

Re: server2003 and default website

It didn't work. I added the ListenOnlyList subkey according to the
instructions in the article and changed the string data value to the IP
address of the server; it still didn't work. Man, I just can't figure this
one out.

Help.

Go download this, and see what ports are in use by what.

Re: server2003 and default website

Brian,
Thank you very much for the utility. Here's the culprit: ctxxmlss.exe. It
has something to do with Citrix MetaFrame XP. I will check into this further.
Thanks!
